Virgin Color: thickly scraped oil paint with palette knives on canvas. Subdued to high color, with a damar varnish gloss sheen. Scraping a palette knife over the surface of canvas or wood, sometimes starting in the middle or a corner of the piece. Eventually connecting the piece together through hundreds of scrapes, mixing the oil paint as I move.
